I used *Just Cher*'s Ranch Bean recipe, as a base for a much loved family favorite, that I wanted to re-create at our base Dining Facility. In the States I could have bought a nice can of Ranch Style beans, and then kicked up--but here...no grocery store. I still had some lovely dried Chipotle Peppers my daughter had sent...so in they went. (I am scaling this back down from the 150 I cooked it for, so I hope it is accurate for home cooks. :) ) -- posted by ashkani read more »

The HG version has 2 points whereas the T.G.I.Friday's version has 16 points! YIKES! Taking baked beans to another level. I use a crock pot but can be made in the oven. This is a great side dish or can be used as a main dish. My boss gave me this recipe for a pot luck we were having and it went over very well. Can prep the night before or same day. You can use any kind of beans you would like but the baked beans must stay. -- posted by mnwife55430 read more »

This lamb stew was a way of using ribs and breast of lamb after a butchering, for their own use at the ranch. Potatoes, onions, carrots and cabbage came from their garden. The original didn’t use herbs, but the herbs do much for the flavor. -- posted by Olga Drozd read more »
