if you can, start by going to a carniceria & picking up some pre-marinated carne asada & some bolillos. if thats not available to you then i suggest you marinate the steaks in Recipe #220759 only through step 6 using ingredients vinegar through paprika & you can use any soft roll type bread if you cant find bolillos. these are so tasty you HAVE to try 'em!! -- posted by catalinacrawler read more »

This was Mimi's (my mom's) chili recipe, which I grew up on. I've made some changes over the years, and this is how it ended up! It's not real thick, but it's full of chunky goodness. You can always use less liquid if desired, but we like it this way. I sprinkle grated jalapeno jack cheese on top and we have it with cornbread. We've also had this over prepared sea-shell pasta or elbow macaroni. -- posted by FloridaNative read more »

From "Don't Panic, Dinner's in the Freezer". Serve with cornbread or tortillas.Green chiles may be added, if desired. If you prefer a slightly thinner consistency, add more tomato sauce, or V-8 juice. -- posted by DesertRose15 read more »

This is my favourite way to make chilli. It's quick, and simple. I like to serve it with plain corn chips, or totilla chips. You can adjust the heat to suit your liking, by adding more or less of the chilli and cayenne. I rarely measure them, I like to sprinkle them in and taste test til th eheat is just right! -- posted by Sara 76 read more »

This is an amazing recipe for carne asada. I tried probably thirty different recipes until I found this one. Now this is the only one I will make. It is just that good. -- posted by Londonsbk read more »

Found this one a number of years ago in Texas Highways. I wanted to save safely. This originally was adapted from The Melting Pot: Ethnic Cuisine in Texas. Zucchini can be substituted for the mexican squash. -- posted by TXOLDHAM read more »
