This is the result of a pantry sweep for dinner. I based it on my mom's old "german fried potatoes" that I had as a kid. That recipe was basically potatoes and onions browned in a TON of butter on a skillet. Fry sausage and drain. Put tomatoes, peppers, onions and sausage in a bowl. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Mix in bowl. Slice squash. Put layer of squash in bottom of 9x13 dish. read more »

You can make this with any fruit really, even if posted with blueberries. I have made this with apples, caned pinapple, peaches, strawberries and it even works with perservatives or jam. Berry Bake - my favorite cake! -- posted by Iceland read more »
