As light but elegant entree, this hazelnut and lemon crusted turkey breast would be ideal. I got it from Turkey Farmers of Ontario. -- posted by Annacia read more »

If they’re available, choose Rome Beauty apples for this recipe. Romes have a somewhat flat, mealy taste when eaten raw, but their flavor develops a wonderful richness when cooked. They’re available from October until early Summer. The Golden Delicious, the Cortland, the Jonathan, and the Granny Smith are also good for baking. The [...] read more »

These potatoes are wonderful--thanks Rachael Ray! The recipe calls for butter and I made these quite successfully with Smart Balance spread. -- posted by PaulaG read more »

At Christmas, my mom ALWAYS baked an apple crisp in her deep glass pie dish, and we unashamedly scarfed it down. The apples made it healthy, sure, but what about all the hard fat? When we went vegan and couldn't buy a dairy-free margarine, that was a dilemma. Thankfully, we don't have to resort to Crisco. We found and modified this recipe on Vegweb, and now our holiday apple crisp is every bit as sinfully sweet, appley and crispy as it ever was. -- posted by White Rose Child read more »

My family's holiday staple. We rarely had a holiday meal without this on the table. This is an excellent side to Ham, but goes well with turkey to. It comes out similar to a bread pudding.

You can sub prepackaged bread cubes, just try and eyeball 6 slices worth. -- posted by Thndrus read more »

Another one of my Grandmother's Traditional Italian Recipes.... This is a little time consuming in the prep. phase, but it's more than worth it in the end. There is nothing like this when you taste it. This is by far one of my favorites, and my brother's favorite, and my husband's favorite, and so on, & so on... :-) We always have it on Easter & Christmas.

You can make your own pizza dough for this recipe or buy the dough already made... I sometimes buy it from our local read more »

My Mom took a microwave cooking classwhen we got our first microwave (late 80's). This is one of the recipies she got and we tried. It's actually pretty good and really simple to make. Great if you have a full stove top of food cooking and a free microwave. -- posted by Thndrus read more »

A sweet treat for breakfast or teatime. Blueberries or boysenberries can be subbed for the blackberries. Using frozen berries makes this easy to make at any time of the year. The berries do not have to be thawed. -- posted by Lvs2Cook read more »

An amazingly healthy and economical pudding. This is a great way to use up stale bread, and what's more, it has NO added fat, eggs or sugar! Cooking time is mostly passive. -- posted by peachy_pie read more »

This simple pineapple sauce is so delicious and easy to make. I got the recipe from my Sister-in-law. Leftovers are great served warm, over vanilla ice cream. I love it with a Honey Baked Ham. -- posted by JT'sMom read more »
