This will be what you want to tote along on the annual "Christmas Tree" picking-out expedition. Heat it up, pour into the Thermos, and toddle off to the woods singing Christmas carols. What a happy little party you and your companions will make! DID YOU KNOW? Wisconsin is the nation's TOP PRODUCER of the lovely (and humble) cranberry that makes for such beautifully colored dishes during the holidays. The original recipe comes from a spice ad in Gourmet magazine (2007). -

I adapted this recipe from one I found in a magazine at Christmas time. They are delicious and a very festive dessert for holiday parties! You can use any boxed chocolate cake mix, I just listed my favorite. Just be sure to follow the directions on the box of whatever brand you use. Allow extra time for cooling the cupcakes. -- posted by PinkFreakMandy

Quiches of aromatic winter vegetables -- cabbage, leeks, onions -- are very popular in Germany when the weather gets chill. My family often makes onion quiche -- Zwiebelkuchen. As a child who hated onions, I stayed far away from that "delicacy," until served Zwiebelkuchen and Krautkuchen while visiting my cousin. As it turns out, both are pretty good, but I still prefer the one with less onion.

This recipe was called "Triscuit Turkey Melts" by Rachael Ray but I prefer turkey brie cranberry bites as that really tells you what you are getting. This is an easy appetizer that would be great for the holidays, Thanksgiving, a dinner party at home or anytime you need a quick snack. Very cute and yummy! Watch the brie in the broiler. Enjoy! This recipe was tested and developed using Jell-O brand instant vanilla pudding mix, I cannot guarantee the same results using another brand or omitting from the recipe, this is buttery tender dough that produces an excellent flavored and textured cookie --- servings is only estimated it will depend on how thick you slice the dough, I get about 12-15 cookies per roll if sliced just over a 1/4-inch thick, you may of coarse slice them thinner or thicker if desired and adjust baking time slightly

Like Mexican hot chocolate, these "cup" cakes are flavored with spicy cinnamon and bitter cocoa powder, as well as ancho chile pepper. The cakes are baked and served in coffee cups, and have a fudgy hot chocolate layer at the bottom of the cup. -- posted by Annacia

There are so many recipes here for chocolate chip cookies that I found myself going in circles to see if my exact recipe was posted. I know there isn't one here named Heidi's favorte so here it is! This recipe is not cake like at all but is a soft cookie. It seems to use a larger amount of fat than others posted here and specifically calls for shortening as opposed to butter. I just like how my cookies bake with the shortening and I really don't care if it is un-natural and artery clogging.

All the flavors of prosciutto-wrapped figs. A wonderful addition to your holiday appetizers or dinner party hors d'oeuvres. Fig spread is more easily found in most supermarkets than it once was...generally found where the jams and jellies are. -- posted by Alan in SW Florida
