Add to: | | leila22, 01/11/07Very Good Meatballs SubstituteIngredients (use vegan versions):    2 cups cooked brown rice    1/2 cup quick cooking oats    1 medium onion, chopped    1/4 cup Italian vegan bread crumbs    1/4 cup soy milk    1 teaspoon dried basil    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano    1/4 teaspoon red pepper    1/3 cup of okara or egg-replacer    1/2 cup wheat germ    oil for fryingDirections:Mix cooked rice, chopped onion, bread crumbs, soymilk, egg replacer or okara, and spices.  Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in wheat germ.  Once you have rolled all the "meat" balls in the germ fry them up and eat!!  This recipe is delicious for spaghet...
