3 cups cucumber, seeded and diced
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp red onion, finely chopped
1 tsp jalapeno pepper, or to taste (wear rubber gloves)
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
4 top sirloin steaks, at room temperature
Prepare grill or broiler.
Combine first 6 ingredients and salt to taste in a bowl and set aside.
Generously season steaks with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Grill or broil steaks 4-5 minutes per side about 5 inches from heat
source, or until desired doneness. Serve steaks with relish.
